Last night Barack Obama became the first black person to be a final democratic candidate for president. Obama is a more light-skinned person of a “mixed” racial mix. He is bright and may be very strong in running for President. Boba is not too excited about Obama or McCain, the republican candidate.

Very hot and windy last few days - 92° today. I visited with Presli and Courtney yesterday and we had fun playing. She read me a story about dogs and showed me many zoo animals. Presli runs very fast!
When Boba was 16 years old in 1966, gas was 18-20 cents per gallon. Gas prices stayed around $1.00 a gallon for several years. No wgas is $4.00 a gallon and will go higher. With the economy “going global” with India and China competing with the U.S., our economy is in the worst situation since the Great Depression in the 1930s.

After attending Uncle Charles’ funeral yesterday, I took Courtney and Presli to join the rest of the Richards clan at Applebees. Presli was well mannered in the restaurant. What else should I expect?
Presli and I played a while at her house, sliding on the chair was one game. As I was leaving she said, “I love you Boba” - music to Boba’s ears.
A wise man told me that “Fear is the greatest deterrent to learning.” This is very true.

Father’s Day for Presli’s father and for Courtney’s father. Boba and Gigi will come for dinner.
It has rained so much in central Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin. All the water in those rivers will be coming down the Mississippi and causing flooding in Southern Illinois and Southeast Missouri. The largest flood since 1993.

A fun Father’s Day meal and visit at Presli’s house. Presli played with Gigi and Boba and loved her dad on Father’s Day. (She did get in trouble for slapping her dad.) Presli was cooking in her oven for us. Presli cried when we left.

Presli stayed with us last night while her mom and dad celebrated their anniversary.
Boba had to talk with people in Cairo about the director of the mental health center retiring.
I ate lots of green beans and carrots and chicken. Lots of people talked to me. When we came back to Boba’s and Gigi’s I fed Mocha. She wanted to lick me. I can talk real good now.
I went with Boba and Gigi to the horse jumping show. I saw a kitty and a baby horse. Me and Boba went to find Lee’s horses and I liked them. I played with Mocha and Latte.

I called Boba yesterday and told him “I love you Boba.” Boba keeps those messages on his phone. Boba loves me too!
